First of all, I love the description :). The blurred surroundings really help focus on the caterpillar. Even the out-of-focus tail of the insect brings attention to the "mouth". The splashes of red drew me into a fixed point, not leading my eyes around the picture much. The bokeh is still kind of crisp for this to take effect, though.

The little offshoot of the stem compliments the flow of the whole photo. The yelllow on the little caterpillar is a little oversaturated to my tastes.

Overall, a good photo with a clever title, okay colors, and great flow and focus. Good job :)

This is amazing!

I really like the square format and how it makes this piece somewhat compact... makes the main subject matter more sturdy as a consequence, I think.

The vibrancy is brilliant in terms of the colours. I really like how it influences the atmosphere and mood. The shallow depth of field does a good job of separating main subject matter from background as well.

Lovely lighting! I do feel that you could have allowed a bit more room around the frame... or moved the camera lower a bit?

Still, it's a pretty good shot regardless and.. yeah, quite interesting.

I have to admit the colors and lighting turn out very, very well. It really makes the subject and the picture of it stand out.
